July 4th Photo Op Ideas To Level Up Your Festivities

July 4th is right around the corner and what’s a holiday without a photo op? Our answer: not as cool 🤣

To help you create a holiday backdrop to add to your festivities, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite red, white & blue ideas that you can easily DIY 🇺🇸

1. Party in the USA 🎉

Want to keep things easy and simple? Find a plain wall (inside or outside), drape an American flag and hang USA foil letter balloons. Instantly you’ve got a photo op that your guests are sure to enjoy!

2. Red, White & Balloons 🎈

Balloon arches are all the craze these days and believe it or not, you don’t *have* to hire a professional to get the expensive look you desire. Order a July 4th balloon arch kit and follow our best balloon arch practices listed here to achieve a look like below! 

3. Makes Me Want a Hot Dog Real Bad 🌭

You know we couldn’t miss the chance to quote Elle Woods. A fun way to level up your food display is to deck it out with decor like below! Create a hot dog bar with all things red, white & blue to bring an extra layer of fun.

4. I Can’t Hear You Over My Freedom (and fireworks) 🎇

If you don’t want a full on photo area, you can get creative with the things you’re already going to be providing for your guests, such as sparklers, s’mores, props, etc. Add a letter board and some festive flowers and you’re good to go!

5. Star Spangled Banner 🇺🇸

The key to any good photo op is a blank background. It can be a wall in your house, an area outside or something you create. For this look, we used a bamboo window shade (you’ve gotta get creative!) and attached it to an outside door. From there, we added 1776 balloons, a star banner and paper fans to create a star spangled look that guests loved!

6. Classic Colors 💙

For a more classic look, you can opt for minimal red, white & blue decor and attach it to a natural background like below (we love to use pallets!). Add a holiday throw blanket or quilt with a few props for your guests to take their photos with and it’ll be a hit!
